When a device on your network requests a file or visits a website, the traffic passes through Cloud Shield before reaching the device:
- Signature matching — Files and payloads are compared against databases of known malware signatures. Known threats are blocked instantly.
- Heuristic analysis — Even if a file doesn't match a known signature, its behavior patterns and code structure are analyzed for suspicious characteristics.
- URL reputation — Download sources are checked against databases of known malware distribution sites. Files from untrusted sources are flagged or blocked.
- Real-time updates — Threat databases are updated continuously. When a new malware variant is discovered, protection is applied across the entire network within minutes.
